Today is the practice round par 3 contest at the Masters in Augusta and therefore we are going to talk about weight and strength exercises for golfers. Many golf enthusiasts think that they just need to go out and meet with their golf coach to work on their swing but they also need a comprehensive strength building program that will improve the swing and prevent injuries.
One problem area that we see at Get Fit Personal Training is balance and stability issues in golfers. That is easily observed when swinging the golf ball. Last week we talked about body stability exercises and now we move it to sports specific type training. When golfers don’t have the core strength, they start compensating with other body parts and cause injuries or pain in the back area, the shoulders, and hips.
